Pancing

Pancing adalah alat untuk menangkap ikan yang secara umum terdiri dari beberapa bagian yaitu: mata pancing, tali pancing, umpan, gagang pancing atau joran, pelampung, pemberat, dan lain sebagainya. Namun, mengingat ada ribuan bahkan jutaan jenis ikan yang dapat ditangkap, maka terdapat variasi dari alat tangkap pancing yang digunakan. Misalnya, masyarakat di Kepulauan Seribu mengkategorikan alat tangkap pancing menjadi dua, yaitu alat tangkap pancing tanpa umpan dan alat pancing berumpan.

Alat tangkap pancing tanpa umpan terdiri dari:
(a) pancing tonda (troll line); (b) pancing huhate (pole and line); dan (c) pancing yang ditarik (drag line).

Sedangkan alat tangkap pancing berumpan dibagi lagi menjadi beberapa jenis, yaitu:
a. Pancing tangan dan pancing ulur sederhana
Jenis pancing yang juga digunakan oleh sebagian besar nelayan di Indonesia ini ada yang memakai satu mata pancing dan ada juga yang memasang dua hingga empat mata pancing sekaligus. Pancing tangan (di tempat lain ada yang menamakan pancing usep, pancing jegog, pancing mungsing, pancing gambur, dan lain sebagainya) dapat digunakan di mana saja, seperti: tebing pantai, daerah bebatuan di tepi pantai, maupun diatas perahu. Sedangkan jenis-jenis ikan yang biasa dipancing menggunakan pancing tangan adalah ikan kakap merah, snapper, ekor kuning (ceasio sp.), Caranx sp., dan lain sebagainya.

b. Pancing bergagang
Pancing bergagang pancing pada prinsipnya sama dengan pancing tangan dan pancing ulur. Bedanya hanyalah pada penggunaan gagang yang terbuat dari kayu, besi, atau bambu yang panjangnya antara 2 hingga 3 meter. Jenis pancing bergagang diantaranya adalah pancing welwsan, pancing tiger, pancing dewel, pancing sumbal, pancing pemaphav dan lain sebagainya. Sedangkan ikan-ikan yang menjadi tujuan tangkapannya adalah ikan kakap merah, ekor kuning, dan ikan belanak.

c. Pancing dengan layang-layang (kite line)
Sesuai dengan namanya, kite line mengunakan layang-layang yang terbuat dari daun kiter (polypodium quercifollum). Sebagai ganti ekor layang-layang diikatkan tali pancing yang mata kailnya diganti dengan jerat berumpan. Sedangkan cara pengoperasiannya sama seperti orang yang sedang bermain layang-layang namun dilakukan di atas sebuah perahu atau kapal kecil. Layang-layang tersebut dinaikkan sedemikian rupa dan diusahakan agar ujung tali (yang berjerat dan berumpan) seakan-akan bermain di atas air sehingga ikan yang menjadi tujuan tangkapannya, yaitu ikan cendro (Tylosurus Melenotes blk.) mudah tertangkap.

d. Pancing gurita (octopus jigg)
Pancing gurita bukanlah alat pancing yang bentuknya menyerupai gurita, melainkan alat pancing yang khusus digunakan untuk menangkap gurita (octopus). Pancing gurita bentuknya unik karena pada bagian ujungnya terdapat banyak sekali mata kail yang melengkung dan mencuat ke atas. Melalui tali pancing yang panjang, puluhan mata kail tersebut diberi sedikit umpan lalu diturunkan pada lokasi yang diduga banyak dihuni gurita. Manakala gurita memakan umpan yang ada di mata kail, maka sang pemancing akan melakukan sentakan mendadak pada tali pancing sehingga mulut sang gurita akan tersangkut pada mata pancing.

e. Pancing rawai (long line).
Pancing rawai atau perawe atau prawe ini banyak digunakan oleh nelayan di Indonesia dengan berbagai macam bentuk, sesuai dengan lokasi penangkapan ikan (selasar benua maupun lautan lepas). Sedangkan ikan yang menjadi tujuan penangkapannya terutama adalah berbagai macam jenis ikan tuna dan beberapa ikan lainnya seperti: cucut, pari, layaran, setuhuk, ikan pedang atau ikan todak. Jadi, tidak mengherankan apabila ada nelayan menyebut pancing long line, maka yang diartikannya adalah pancing tuna long line.

Bentuk-bentuk pancing rawai dapat dikategorikan menjadi beberapa macam, baik berdasarkan ukuran, struktur maupun besar-kecilnya ikan yang akan ditangkap. Berdasarkan ukuran alat pancing Anonimous (1971) membedakan menjadi: (a) Onawa, yaitu long line besar yang ditujukan untuk menangkap jenis-jenis tuna besar (30-100 kilogram) seperti, tuna mata besar (bigeye tuna) dan madidihang (yellowfin tuna); (b) Tombonawa atau albacore long line yang khusus digunakan untuk menangkap ikan albakora dengan berat sekitar 10-20 kilogram; dan (c) Meijinawa (meiji long line) yang digunakan untuk menangkap tuna ukuran kecil dengan berat antara 3-10 kilogram.

Sementara Shapiro (1950) mengklasifikasikan long line berdasarkan faktor kedalaman perairan tempat mengoperasikannya, yaitu: (a) albacore type long line yang dioperasikan pada lapisan di bawah permukaan (sub-surface layer) atau di perairan dangkal; dan (b) black tuna type long line yang dioperasikan pada perairan dalam.

Hampir serupa dengan Shapiro, Sainbury (1968) juga membedakan pancing long line berdasarkan faktor kedalaman perairan tempat mengoperasikannya, yaitu: (a) sub surface long line yang dioperasikan menurut kedalaman renang ikan; dan (b) bottom long line yang dioperasikan dengan cara direntang dekat maupun di dasar perairan.

Menurut Sainsbury, kunci keberhasilan penangkapan ikan tidak hanya ditentukan oleh jenis alat pancing yang digunakan, melainkan juga oleh kemampuan dari sang nelayan sendiri. Skill atau kemampuan tersebut diantaranya adalah: (a) dapat menentukan daerah-daerah yang banyak didiami oleh ikan tujuan penangkapan; (b) mengetahui kapan waktunya ikan biasa makan; (c) mengetahui keadaan dan gradasi suhu maupun termoklin yang ada di daerah penangkapan; dan (d) dapat menentukan kapan mesin perahu atau kapal harus hidup atau mati karena kawanan ikan biasanya akan terganggu dan pergi apabila mendengar bunyi bising dari mesin perahu.

Penggolongan juga dilakukan oleh von Brandt (1972) yang mendasarkan pada daerah asal long line dibuat, yaitu: (a) long line eropa yang ditujukan untuk menangkat belut laut dan sidat; (b) long line Portugis yang cara pengoperasiannya diatur sedemikian rupa hingga posisinya terangkat dari dasar perairan; dan (c) long line dengan rangkaian lampu yang dipasang pada jarak tertentu.

Dan terakhir, ada pula yang mendasarkan jenis long line pada bagaimana cara pengoperasiannya, yaitu: (a) set long line yang dioperasikan dengan cara direntangkan atau dipasang pada saat perahu penambatkan jangkar ditengah lautan; dan (b) drift long line yang dioperasikan dengan cara dihanyutkan mengikuti arus air laut. Tattoo sendiri adalah luka dari tusukan, yang dibuat didalam kulit & kemudian diberi tinta. Tattoo dibuat dengan cara menusukkan jarum ke kulit & kemudian dimasukkan tinta ke wilayah tersebut.

Yang membuat tattoo menjadi tahan lama, adalah karena tinta tersebut dimasukkan bukan kedalam epidermis (lapisan teratas kulit yang, sering mengelupas & diproduksi lagi seumur hidup). Melainkan, tattoo dibuat dengan tinta yang dimasukkan kedalam lapisan dermis (lapisan kedua kulit), sel pada dermis cenderung lebih tetap, sehingga membuat tattoo menjadi permanen.

Menurut AAD (The American Academy of Dermatology) terdapat 5 jenis tato menurut fungsi & proses terjadinya, yaitu sebagai berikut :

Tattoo akibat bekas luka
Biasanya disebabkan karena adanya debu atau serpihan didalam kulit, sehingga akan timbul pigmentasi setelah lukanya sembuh. Tattoo ini biasanya terjadi karena luka akibat kecelakaan di jalan raya.

Tattoo amatir
Biasanya dibuat sendiri atau oleh teman & tidak terlalu mengedepankan fungsi artistiknya. Cara yang biasa dipakai adalah dengan menggoreskan jarum/peniti yang sudah diberi tinta kedalam kulit. Untuk pewarna yang bisa digunakan, dapat berupa tinta india, tinta pulpen, arang atau abu.

Tattoo profesional
Tattoo profesional dapat dibagi menjadi 2 bagian, tato modern & tato etnik. Tattoo etnik biasanya dibuat dengan metode etnik tertentu yang diwariskan secara turun temurun, seperti misalnya pada masyarakat dayak atau di pulau pasifik. Sedangkan tato modern, dibuat dengan menggunakan alat khusus pembuat tattoo, di studio tattoo oleh seniman tattoo. Pigmentasi yang terjadi dapat bervariasi melalui penggunaan beragam warna pada tattoo yang dibuat.

Tattoo medis
Biasanya digunakan untuk menggambar area tubuh yang akan diradiasi. Tattoo medis biasanya dilakukan oleh dokter.

Tattoo kecantikan
Digunakan untuk membuat make-up permanen, seperti eye liner, lip liner, lipstick, alis mata & rambut. Tattoo kosmetik juga dapat digunakan untuk menggambar puting payudara setelah melakukan operasi payudara, menyamarkan vitiligo (kelainan pigmen warna pada kulit) atau menutupi tato yang tidak diinginkan.

Legenda Panglima Hitam dari Pulau Tidung

Panglima Hitam atau Wa’Turup lahir pada zaman Syarif Hidayah Tullah berkuasa di daerah Cirebon, Jawa Barat. Ia dipercaya oleh sebagian penduduk Pulau Tidung sebagai orang yang pertama kali menginjakkan kaki di Pulau Tidung. Jadi, dia beserta kawan-kawannya adalah penduduk pertama Pulau Tidung.

Kedatangan Panglima Hitam ke Pulau Tidung konon berawal ketika ia bersama pasukannya diperintahkan oleh Syarif Hidayah Tullah menyerang pasukan Belanda yang ingin menguasai Cirebon. Namun karena kalah dalam hal persenjataan dan takut untuk kembali lagi ke Cirebon, mereka kemudian melarikan diri melalui laut hingga sampai ke Pulau Tidung. Di pulau inilah Panglima Hitam bersembunyi hingga akhir hayatnya.

Makam Panglima Hitam baru diketemukan pada tahun 2006 setelah seorang warga bernama Sugeng bermimpi bertemu dengan Panglima Hitam. Dalam impiannya itu ia diperintahkan untuk mencari makam Panglima Hitam. Setelah beberapa waktu mencari, akhrnya pada tanggal 31 Desember 2006 makam berhasil di temukan di bawah pohon kedondong tua yang letaknya di sebelah timur Pulau Tidung Kecil.

Oleh warga setempat makam dibersihkan dan direnovasi. Barang-barang peninggalan Panglima Hitam yang berada di sekitar makam, seperti keris, pedang, guci, kendi dan lain sebagainya juga dibersihkan. Selanjutnya, makam bersejarah ini dijadikan sebagai tempat ziarah dan objek wisata bagi masyarakat Pulau Tidung dan sekitarnya.
